My aunt's 20yo cat Sylvia was put to sleep this week. She's the one that I've cat-sat several times, nervously aware she could die on my watch. It seems like high summer is bad for pet mortality.

Housemate's cat had a sort-of stroke on Monday morning that paralyzed him, so Housemate made the call. Happy Cat had a good run.

I don't know why I feel like alcoholic root beer is okay but alcoholic ginger ale is not
I actually liked the alcoholic ginger beer better than the root beer. Though I haven't tried that many varieties.
Flea, I would be annoyed by a coworker because it's awkward to make them leave, but a 10 year old I'd kick out without compunction. You don't even work there, kid! Go nap under moms desk?

Alcoholic root beer is now a thing and is delicious!
I tried the alcoholic orange soda at a liquor store a while back. Very sweet but might be nice mixed with something else.
Not all ginger beer is alcoholic, is it?

All I know of ginger beer is that it was used in a threatening manner in one of Pratchett's Night Watch books, as a potential part in a dirty interrogation (though only as a threat, and Vimes was disgusted with himself). I have no idea what is so threatening about ginger beer.

Home-made ginger (and root) beer tends to be highly carbonated/explosive (or not at all, if the batch goes bad). My mom has many great stories of her dad's experiments with trying to make his own. Very messy, apparently.
