I just saw that an old HS friend is now doing freelance floor cleaning, but he falls in that middle zone between complete stangers and close friends/family who I'm OK with seeing how messy my apartment is and potentially having unsupervised access to my personal stuff.

The maintenance guy in my building likes to go through people's stuff when he's in an apartment unsupervised.
Once a tenant was out of town for a few weeks but came back early to find Tim the maintenance guy sitting on his recliner, watching his TV and eating his food.

Not sure if I mentioned here, Daveed went to my high school (different eons, of course) and was taught by one of my friends.
Daveed was one of my friends' first onstage kiss (M/M, too!). Bay Area Represent!
I would love to have someone come in twice a year and do all the grotty stuff I hate doing. I have no problem with the usual weekly(ish) chores, but I haaaaaate cleaning out drawers, scrubbing cupboards & walls, cleaning grout, etc. Also, we need someone in to professionally clean our carpets, but we also have a soon-to-be-toddler, so that might be a waste of money.

I'm thinking every other week-ish. This first person is from a company that we used for our move out cleaning in California. So I know they are reputable, bonded, and such. I will ask about products for sure...my asthma is under control right now and I want to keep it that way.

I keep meaning to see if I can hire my mother's cleaning person, and then not doing it. It would be super easy if she were looking for new clients!
ION, I got called for another phone screen! This one at a COMPANY. I have not worked for a for-profit company since I was in college. Mostly, I'm relieved to see I've still Got It, as far as my resume/cover letters. I didn't really apply for this job, so it's been a while.

Meara, thanks for the questions. I have hired them for monthly cleaning to start with. The first cleaning is more expensive but I can cap the time, as that is done hourly while the normally cleaning is proceed by visit.
I have a cleaning service, y'all. Now I just have to get the young audit in my house to have their rooms navigable (CJ, I'm looking at you) by the 27th.
