That reminds me that I need to take the active shooter training. The only problem is I need to be on the corporate network to do it and it's a real pain to do that. I figure keeping a M249 in my file cabinet would do the trick.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
"Well, I sometimes see a kid down at the mall trading little baggies for cash. maybe he can help you?"
Connie, were they at least good enough to bring you pizza since you were not evacuated?
Oh, Teppy, he sounds a bit like my mom. The last chemo she had, a few years ago, wreaked havoc on her balance and she is getting pretty frail physically, too. She will not use canes or anything. She has learned to navigate stairs despite her balance and frailness because she has to go upstairs to sleep every night. She has one hand on each banister and stops for a rest on the landing. It's slow, but she does it.
She only goes out when she has someone to hang onto for balance. And she claims she walks faster than her friends, but she is sloooooow. If we have to go anywhere that someone has to walk more than, say, half a block, we get a wheelchair and plop her in it. And getting her in and out of a car is quite the workout.
If you BiL wants his dad there so badly (and I can't blame him for that) he should practice with him NOW and ascertain if his help can make it possible for your FiL to actually get around. If so, he should be on call to help your dad get up and down those stairs every single day. Just HOPING it will work out once dad gets there is silly.

We leave Friday morning, so there's no time for practice.

Also dangerous.
Timelies all!
Steph, I'm sorry Middle Brother is being so ridiculous about this.
Yes, and dangerous.

I'd agree with that IF FiL was interested in going. He seems pretty clear on that, so it seems like more pushing him around under the circumstances.
Okay. It sounds like Tim's dad gave Middle Brother an earful and Middle Brother has accepted that their dad is not going. Good lord.
Also -- I couldn't make this up if I tried -- the person on FB who posted asking for a "back doctor" posted again and said "I asked for recommendations for a back doctor, not a spinal specialist. Can anyone recommend a back doctor to me???"
I have not replied.
Proctologist?
