Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh meara, why are camera tickets so much more money than regular tickets? That's what I've found anyway. I call bullshit.

Also bullshit? I got a ticket for an illegal left turn (I'm blaming bad signage as I truly and honestly didn't see it). I got the ticket in March. It came due in early May, but when I went to take care of it, it still hadn't been uploaded into the computer system. So I had to go to the courthouse to get paper documentation that I held up my end of the bargain. I've been checking the website every week since and it STILL ISN'T THERE. So annoying!

Had a great time with friends tonight doing the Night Nation Run. It's a cross between a 5k and a dance party. Run a little, walk a little, dance a little. It was awesome.

Today's con report...was SWAMPED for most of the day, so I didn't get to wander much. I did talk with Brent Spiner. I saw Ralph Macchio from afar. That man is older than me but, at least from a distance, he still looks damn young.

The John Barrowman event I went to after the con was fantastic. Both his husband and parents were there. His parents are a total kick. John's accent would flip back and forth depending on if he was talking to us or to his parents. This introverted lady actually asked him a question. I also mentioned that I had been selling his photo ops all day. He asked if I had gotten one. When I said no, I had worked all day, he invited me up and took a selfie with me (it was a no photo event). I thought I was a hot mess but the pic came out great. So glad I went. The man is crazy, intelligent, and such an advocate for so many things.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Well that certainly did not cure me being a little in love with John Barrowman. The darling man!

I need to put in the ac before it gets unpleasant. I've been lying on the couch since 8, contemplating this. Yesterday was a little much.

Coding and Sleeping

Feeling really down today. Spent a good part of the day cleaning yesterday, but the house is still a mess. It's hard for me to find any time to do a lot besides the routine household stuff of cooking, dishes, laundry, and such. The yard needs work too, but my back is hurt and I don't handle the heat well and it's super hot outside. I'm taking a lot of criticism at home, been feeling some pressure at work, got a letter from the IRS saying I owe them $1,800 (which doesn't look to be true, but that's another thing I don't have time to deal with), can't seem to get a break financially (mostly because of medical stuff which is also the IRS problem), and I dunno, I feel like I can't take much more. Nothing I can really do about it though.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Gud, I'm not clear on why all of the household stuff is on you. You have three other members of the household, and they should be carrying some of the load. Especially since it's Father's Day!

And I know it's hard to do, but I want to encourage you to find a therapist. A professional can help you develop tools to prioritize this stuff, and manage both the stress and your relationships (which are clearly contributing to the stress).

Also, here, have an adorable Penguin: [link]

What Consuela said.

Ok, help: what do I wear on a kayaking date? I want to look cute but also activity appropriate. It will be about 66-68F. If it were not a date if probably wear running capris and a spandex top, on the theory that if they get wet they would dry quickly. But that seems not right for a date.
