Oh my beloveds. I can't even manage to keep up here so I can't add Tumblr time to my schedule.
I keep up on Tumblr by having traded it entirely for FB. I think it keeps me slightly less full of rage.
Edited to add: even with filters and stuff, FB just drives me up a wall.
What's the point of all these corporations knowing everything I do and buy and say otherwise?
An excellent question! That's annoying.
Tumblr makes me feel stupid. I can't figure out how it works at all.

I actually think the reblog-to-reply-to-a-post thing is cumbersome and weird as hell and doesn't feel like a conversation. I mostly use Tumblr to reblog things I like, and occasionally post things.
You can use my Tumblr reblogs to track what I'm doing/have recently done, though, like "She just saw Deadpool...Elementary must have just aired...and now she's reading about anxiety."
Trying to have a convo on Tumblr is crazy making. But for pretty pictures, fic recs, memes, and just general fan info, I like it. There are people who clearly have news feed alerts for show things and gather every interview, Instagram, periscope, photo spread....things I would never see otherwise.
My favorite is how every time I see a picture of Allen Leech, I think, "Oh! Sue would want to see this...oh, Sue posted it." Hee.
I'm also enjoying the fact that Jack McCain's response to racists was, literally, "eat it." [link]

I think my main colleague in his tumblr fandom has moved on the Daredevil, so I am mostly it.
I should give tumblr another look-see I guess, but then again, I still haven't cottoned on to twitter, so I suspect I'm useless
