Zoe: Next time we smuggle stock, let's make it something smaller. Wash: Yeah, we should start dealing in those black-market beagles.

What do they want? Carrier pigeon?

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Things I should not do:

  • Read anyone's comments on FB about a teacher arrested for hitting her student repeatedly in the head.
  • Respond to someone on FB about red meat leading to strokes by asking "Does the stroke come with bacon?"
  • Possibly read FB at all.

That first one really upsets me, though. The number of people who believe that a student could do something to deserve physical abuse from a teacher, who justify it with "I was hit all the time when I was in school!" I just...am at a loss.

She's a very a passionate vegan, and I respect her right to eat what she wants, and to share what she believes on FB. But it mostly made me want a cheeseburger.

Punishingly Intricate

Yeah, Dana, people defending a teacher beating up a student is revolting. And, also, is such an insult to teachers who can handle shit appropriately!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

People are defending that teacher?!? I can't even.

They're bemoaning the good old days when teachers were allowed to control their classrooms.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Even whe corporal punishment was the norm at my schools, it was spanks on the rear, NOT slaps to the head like in that video. People are horrible.

ION, ate lunch, now sleepy.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

A lot of people quote the "spare the rod and spoil the child" ... which is still strongly supported by some.

I'm always reminded of when, in my teens, they started introducing laws against child abuse and people were screaming that if they weren't free to beat their children said children would run wild and be criminals. Never, of course, acknowledging a difference between discipline and abuse.

I am trying to give myself a pep talk à la Stephen Colbert's, "Get it together, Colbert!" I'm not sure it's working.
