Only seen it twice, but...
do we see anyone's personal living space other than Bucky's (forced out of) and Wanda's (locked into)?
I'm making a list of things to note the next viewing.
now I want to contrast the way that Steve enters Wanda's room with the way Vision does. This is also on the next-viewing list.
So Hydra
had Howard killed for whatever was in the trunk. I'm surprised no one questioned by Maria was strangled, but perhaps there was more mangling involved. Still, injuries not consistent with car wreck. But I'm sure everyone's first thought was "Crap, Stark must have been drunk, quick, cover it all up."
But imagine Obadiah's reaction.
As I read in a fic somewhere "Maybe he thought Christmas came early." He had to have been wondering who orchestrated it and why--and if he had to watch his own back.
Unless
he and Hydra had an understanding.
Upon rewatch,
Steve's "I knew" definitely sounded to me as if he was admitting that he figured out Bucky was the one HYDRA had kill the Starks, even if he had no proof.
I'm with Matt, Steve
had to suspect, because Zola was definitely hinting hard about connections.
So were the other
Winter Soldiers activated? Or were they being held in reserve?
I also thought Steve knew (or strongly suspected) that
Bucky killed Howard and Maria.
Matt, after two watches, I'm still going with
didn't want to know for sure, even if he knew on some level, and intentionally didn't poke it with a stick.
Also,
that he's admitting that to himself as much as to Tony.
Threepeat
It seems to tie into what he said in the letter, y'know? Also, man. I am so impressed with how they set things up, no matter what the specific intent was there. The reminder after things have gone south but before they have hit the point of no turning back, penguins at the gate south, that Howard was Steve's friend as well as Tony's dad. So much stuff in every line.
I thought
Steve was admitting that he'd known Bucky did it.
The other
Winter Soldiers were killed by Zola in their cryo-sleep.
Pretty sure I saw bullet holes in them.
Yeah
Zola killed them,
but I wondered
if they'd been out in the world like Bucky.
