Hm. That's pretty weak. Not you, dcp, the story.

The premise is an interesting one but I feel like they didn't delve into the moral dilemmas and personal convictions and whatnot enough, which seems strange for such a long movie, but 7,000 years is a lot of ground to cover no matter how you slice it.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

There was a post in my cancer support group this morning by a member named Steve Rogers. I still do a double-take when I see that name.

If Wade Wilson joins the group, it's going to really freak me out.

Ms Marvel Trailer.

Interesting that this show will overlap with both Obi Wan on Disney+ and the theatrical release of Thor.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ms Marvel Trailer.

I was wondering how they were going to handle her stretchy powers and...they mostly have changed them. Though there's a bit of it.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I'm more excited about Ms. Marvel than I am about Moon Knight, honestly.

Moon Knight looks stressful: Ms. Marvel looks FUN.

The Ms. Marvel trailer is great. Disney workers protesting the Don't Say Gay bill is better. [link]

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Anyone watching Moon Knight? It's irritating me and I want to share that irritation. I guess I can do that without knowing if anyone else is watching, but it'll feel less like ranting on a corner somewhere. Warning: this is... really ranty and verbose because I don't have anyone else with whom to discuss it.

Ranting anyway: look, either actually explore your bad guy's philosophy or skip it entirely. I'm sick of this "reasonable" motivation which also somehow is in favor of killing children but just stops discussing it at that point? Like he's trying to make the case but then Steven is like, "kind of a dealbreaker there" and Ethan Hawke kind of shrugs and that's it. Maybe I'm having trouble because Ethan Hawke is really convincing so I want to actually get to the heart of the problem. Are all of his lovely community-organizer followers really okay with the killing children bit? Why is everyone so into him?

I'm doing okay with Oscar Isaac character names but keep forgetting the other guy.

Oh and also along the same lines: I'm clear that Ammet is not a good guy, but... I'm not seeing a lot of evidence that Khonshu is either, so are we just rooting for Mark because he's our main character? Because I kind of need more than that. Yes, I'm on board with stopping Ethan Hawke, of course, although see above but "Khonshu's justice" is going to need a bit more fleshing out before I'm on board. Also why do the avatars invite him over to view Khonshu's punishment?! For that matter, why did Khonshu call a meeting if he wasn't going to bother to present evidence?

And finally: I get that you were drawing out the mystery, but I'm losing patience with it now. How long has Steven existed? Is Mark the original or have they always been split? How does Steven have documentation to get a job at the British Museum? How does he have so much knowledge about ancient Egypt that neither Mark nor Layla have (and that's a whole other issue, like isn't Layla a dealer in ancient artifacts? Why is she all "oh, better call up that other personality I only just found out about, he's the expert!"?)? [I think all those punctuation marks are correct, but it does look weird.]

So why am I still watching? Well, I think Oscar Isaac is great and I'm really enjoying watching him do his thing. I *am* interested in the mystery, I'm just frustrated at the pace of revelation. I really like seeing a little bit of Egypt. I find the actress playing Layla interesting. Almost everything looks really good and I enjoy the stunts. I'm just feeling a little let down by the writing. And I think I'm still suffering from post-Lost suspicion of ongoing mysteries. I never read the comic books but from what my YouTube shows tell me this is veering pretty far away anyway so I feel okay about that.

Edited because while cut-and-paste is a fine editing tool, copy-and-paste is a little confusing.
