I actually didn't feel it was
played for big laughs. I think it was realistic. He could not fucking deal and man could I identify.
I was really happy that they didn't
have anyone urge him to start training or have him get anywhere back into shape.
In fact, most people didn't mention it at all.
So my question is/questions are:
when did Cap go back to to meet up with Peggy? The 40s? As the music suggests. Or 1970 when he knows where she is? And since another Cap exists in that timeline does he go by an alias and no one recognizes him??
I'm trying to wrap my head around if
Steve was Peggy Carter's husband, and the father of her children
the whole time. Did we ever get to see
who Peggy's husband was
?
Tom, EXACTLY!! I Do Not Know!!!!
But then
why the HELL would Steve not warn Peggy that S.H.I.E.L.D. had been infiltrated by Hydra?
It's possible that
he created an alternate timeline and just asked someone in that timeline for a favor to get him back to the timeline they were in. Nebula's killing of her past self didn't get rid of her present self and they had their own weird timey-wimey explanations of what does and does not work.
I was thinking
once he went back there are 2 Steves in a timeline until the moment Cap zaps back to the past and that's when the two timelines reconnect and only one Steve is left. So either modern Cap gone back says nothing of what he knows and let's things just play out, or the now that we see at then end is going to be slightly changed?!?! Time travel stuff makes my head hurt. I want a Russo Brother answer on this. Nice cameo by one them in the support group, right? Was the other one anywhere, I did not catch it.
I did the "Hulk eating lunch" pee break and made it to the end (difficulty level: third trimester). We were debating whether to tell people
there's no post-credits.
So, apart from the obvious
three, who else is all done with the franchise? We're clearly getting more Thor, what about Hulk? And Hawkeye?
Also, I eagerly await the fics about coping with
half the population being 5 years out of sync with the other half.
On the
time travel, it seems like Cap is a closed-loop (took the long way around in the same timeline), but Nebula, Gamora, and Thanos created an open-loop (new timeline due to being dead/in the future).
So
Hawkeye is getting the TV series no one asked for but apparently, we get? IDEK there. Which means Renner's not done quite yet.

Well done! Damn!
I just read somewhere
that an alternate timeline now exists where Loki has a stone.
Also
these people read Cap as going back to sometime in the 40s therefore wiping out Peggy marrying whoever was mentioned as her husband, but since he was never named I want to believe that future Steve took on the identity of someone else to everyone else but Peggy.
I searched last night on contract info for remaining people but did not find anything real tight. Especially since many have renegotiated. Pretty sure Sebastian has at least 4 more movies on his contract though. The stuff I did read said st one point Rennet had said that his contract included a Hawkeye movie. I cannot see a market for that so maybe the series has replaced that. There is also the Loki series. Gotta think that the Black Widow movie is an origin story that would include Hawkeye, right?
I don't like the idea of
wiping out the TV show from the timeline, which would happen if he went back to the 40s. I assumed
he just stayed in 70 after dropping off the stuff he and Tony grabbed.
