If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Man In The High Castle is up next after we finish Jessica Jones.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

OK, I really liked Master of None. Ten half-hour episodes, it's not a big commitment, and it's funny, sweet, and thoughtful. I appreciate those qualities. ETA I feel like if my brain was working better I could say something trenchant about its relationship to romcoms. Someone else has probably said it. ETA it left me wanting to make pasta, definitely.

Man in The High Castle will be next, but maybe not until after some of my shows have their fall finales or go on hiatus or whatever.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

-t, I know the official rating on Master of None, but what age would you say it'd be appropriate for? Is it watchable by, say, an eccentric 9-year-old who binge-watched all of Parks & Rec and loves Tom Haverford?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Er, only with parental supervision, since there are a few sex scenes (hell, it BEGINS with a sex scene). No nudity but definite fucking. Though honestly I don't think she'd like it, it's a more mature comedy than Haverfordian antics.

I'm not sure. It's kinda like reading Bitches - there's nothing, like, bad but it is adult content and not trying not to be. Sexual relationships are important parts of the story, and the dialog is casually blue most of the time. If you watch the first 5-10 minutes of the first episode you'll probably be able to judge the appropriateness.

It's a coming of age story, though the age is 30. IDK, that seemed like a helpful thought but I don't know where to go with it.

That's a great description.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I would say no to Master of none for Matilda. Not just for the sex but for adult ideas and situations.

Aw, she'll be disappointed. But thanks. Just another thing for her to add to her list of resentments that we don't understand just how nearly-grown-up she is and treat her like a baby, bless her pre-tween heart.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Hi, streaming thread. I'm watching The Man in the High Castle. Overall good, although many of the characters are too stupid to survive 10 eps. Anyone bugged by the shortening of the opening song, or am I just that special?

Not bugged by the shortening of the opening song. Would not have known if you didn't say it. It's certainly an interesting choice.

I'm only in the second episode but I'm finding it very compelling. I do love me some PKD, and it's probably to the good that I don't actually remember what happens in the book in any detail.
