I loved her toughness about assumptions or ideas or anything fuzzy. Made for some of the most spirited, memorable, funny and Buffistas-ish discussions on this Board. She had no fear about stirring things up--but always in a quest-for-answers way. She didn't want trouble, she wanted truth.
ita's thread
A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.
The link thing has me laughing. One of a million and one things to miss about ita.
I think LAistas will be needed, if you can, to help ita's family when they get here. They're looking for flights/hotel to come and take care of her, but they will need help sorting ita's belongings and getting around, I would think. The coroner and courthouse are Downtown, and ita's place is West LA, and the traffic between the two is insane. If it's possible, I would like to put together a small contact list of people who can help them if they need to get someplace or navigate bureaucracy.
I wish I could help. We are moving to NC next week. I can check in here and see if there's anything I can do.
I can't figure out how to just post a link to it, Betsy, or I would. Should be shared with your profile address now.
I'll have to go back up and start from the beginning, but thank you for opening this thread.
I think one of the last things ita said to me was "Yes, but I have a moon." I said, " Oh sure, play the moon card, you win."
Oh god, I just remembered when ita Googled dog porn, based on something silly I'd said about porn for dogs. She was like, "Well, there's about 50% fewer dogs than I was expecting..."
Kiba Rika, we are meeting 8:30-9:00. Cheerwine is fine, I'm sure. Glad you can join us!

Oh. My. God. (or should that be Dog?)
~We never see each other any more except at weddings and funerals.~
I haven't been here for a very long time, but Buffistas was so important to me at a key point in my life. Betsy HP forwarded my resume to a woman she encountered on the Internet, and that woman referred me to a job at E! Online and I was there for eight years and I tell everybody I can (including Joss Whedon the one time I met him) that Buffy saved my life.
But it wasn't really Buffy.
It was the Buffistas.
ita was at the center of that, and honestly, just so damn cool. I only met her once, but I think of that evening quite often, just because she was so kind and so hospitable and a model of the kind of woman I wanted to be when I grew up and sorted myself out.
ita, wherever you are, you will not be forgotten.
One of the things I regret is that I never met ita in real life.
You guys, I dirty-danced with ita at girlbar back in the day and it was GLORIOUS.
