Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

'Touched'

ita's thread

A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.

Our wings are not tired.

It is absolutely a whatever feels right thing, just as was changing it in the first place. For some it hurt more to change to pink. We all mourn in our own ways.

Compassionately intolerant

I'm with Strix, nothing has demanded a change, yet, so the gingham's still there.

This is my thinking.

Somehow, it was so comforting to see a line of pink gingham squares when we all had them up.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Yes, it was. I loved it.

I'm finally caught up to date on SPN, and although I still enjoy it, it is bittersweet.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

I'm wearing a pink gingham dress to work today (which I bought in honor of ita a few weeks ago, but hadn't worn yet), which is definitely helping me get through the day. After two back-to-back twelve-plus hour days, the only things that got me to work at 6:45 this morning were a freezing cold shower and the pink gingham dress.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

That dress is so awesome, amyth. I really might have to get it.

Oh, god, I almost had heart failure. I went back into Jossverse to read some September posts to get caught up with season 2 of Agents of SHIELD and there was a post from ita and my heart went "ita! it's ita! where have you been ita?' And then I remembered I was reading posts from last year.

For those who do't have Facebook or missed this:

I went to KC's PLanetComicon today and J. August Richards was one of the guests. One of my college roommates' boyfriend was his handler, and Steph asked me on FB, "If you meet JAR and have the chance (and are okay doing this), you could thank him for his kind post after ita passed away. That meant so much to me (as well as other Buffistas)."

I did so: "I totally just got done speaking with J. AUGUST RICHARDS. He was a complete gentleman and I thanked him for his post about ita's death and told him about the development of the scholarship in Jamaica and we talked for about 5 minutes. Anyways, amazingly nice. A gentleman."

He was SO NICE and he stood up to talk to me, shook my hand, moved to the side, and seemed genuinely really invested and pleased to know that her friends had been touched by his post about ita. I told him I would keep him posted about the scholarship information when arrangements are in place, and he asked me to please do so.

We aren't besties now or anything, but he was just lovely and gracious.

Also, since I was going to be talking to JAR about ita, it finally felt right to wear ita's SPN tee-shirt. (I got loads of compliments on it, which I was gracious about but it was bittersweet.) I told JAR that the shirt was ita's and that our community members were allowed by the family to have certain fannish items as remembrances, and he seemed really impressed by our...I dunno, humanity and closeness and courtesy as a fandom community. I didn't have the money for a photo or an autograph, and I felt it COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE to ask, so there's no photographic evidence.

I'm utterly fine about that, because I was lucky enough to be able to represent the Buffistas for ita's sake with dignity and courtesy and grace.
