Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

ita's thread

A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Shared with you, brenda.

I think the link in post -t "ita's thread" Jan 13, 2015 1:34:27 pm PST should work for anyone.

Do these links still work?

Two pictures, each from one of the times I was lucky enough to meet ita. Both from my USA trip:

One of the things I was most thankful for, during my LA visit, was that I got to attend a krav lesson in which ita assisted teaching (Lee, do you remember? we scheduled and re-scheduled and things got shifted and cancelled and schedules changed again, until at the very last evening of the very last day I was in LA it finally all clicked, and we were able to go).

I was lucky enough to get to study a bit from her, to share with her that thing she loved so much and was so good at. She was a really good teacher. She made *me* learn stuff about kicking and punching, and I've never before or since managed to accomplish that again. It was probably the one-of-a-kind air that she brought to it that enabled it for me.

[Edit: -t, the link opens fine for me - thank you so much for sharing that.]

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Nilly, those links bring up a 404 error for me.

I can see them now, Nilly.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

So much love for the second one, and the krav story.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I met her for a hot second at the LA F2F, because she was surrounded, and exhausted from a belt test. But we emailed, and....oh, god, I don't know what to say.

I expected to meet her again for longer one day. Maybe go to Jamaica with her.

I'll be signing up for a krav class, too. Because she made me want to.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I'm so glad everyone is posting and I hate the reason for it.

This. I'm smiling and laughing till I remember the reason for this thread, these stories. Oh, ita.

Thank you for all of sharing the stories and posting here.
