What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M.C. Escher perspective, but I did get time to think.

ita's thread

A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I have an Odeck account, Alllyson, though I mostly lurk, but I can and will write up info once the scholarship fund is set up. I love the idea of a scholarship.

Jesus, I had a psychiatrist appt yesterday right before an F2F interview for a corporate gig, and I talked to my psych about ita for a good fifteen minutes and keep saying "I can't cry because I have this interview." And then about my FIL, and the same thing.

I am not in denial, but I AM angry still, and will be for a long time. And I keep forgetting and then I remember at some weird geeky thing I read or see, and it hits me again.

Is there an address to which we may send sympathy cards or such to ita's family? I understand that it should not be publicly disseminated, but I feel deeply that I wish to send a note.

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

Scholarship fund? Yay!

Scholarship fund for girls in STEM? Extra Yay!

(Maybe not HoYay. Depends on the girl. YYMV.)

My education pompoms and I are ready to donate.

Continuing to be amazed by the beauty of Allyson's hair? Also Yay!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

She is passing into legend.

This is so lovely. It's exactly how I think of her, except I didn't know it until I read it.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm unsure how to get in touch with Odeck with scholarship info once they set it up. Hec or PolterCow have accounts, yes?

Once I give Annalee the information about where to send donations, she'll post it to Odeck.

Your hair is lovely.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The Ballad of ita: crowdsourced across multiple platforms.

Oh. That is what's happening.

I have thoughts about using the anger to do something practical (among other things, there's an upcoming event at my campus that touches on a lot of the issues ita faced), but I'm not sure what thread they'd belong in - this is a remembering and loving thread

I don't think that would be inappropriate here, JZ. If you are thinking of starting a business (including a non-profit as part of it) than, yeah the business thread. And you can always bring up anything in Natter. But if I had a vague idea that somebody was doing something practical and went looking for information, I would start with this thread. FWTW.

Herding cats for fun

Oh you guys. Now I am crying again.

At least I am not a little drunk, like I was last night.

I had this wonderful post that referenced what I'd been reading bla bla bla... and then the words went away into the aether instead of the board. So I had to go away and process it all for awhile.

Hugs to you all.

Idea: use the energy to create the book. Make it sharp and funny like the Vampire People one, only with way more pictures. Edit until there is one personal version for her family and another for the world. Then use any resulting $$$ to fund a scholarship in her name. That sounds perfect for an entity living in the computer...

Yes, I'll follow it up with her as well so we'll get the word out.

Compassionately intolerant

My education pompoms and I are ready to donate.

Una is me in this. I love beyond measure the idea of a STEM scholarship...or any other kind, in ita's name.

My friend Liz has a scholarship at UConn.

I'm not against flowers as a memorial, but I'd so much rather that dosh went to smart girls/kids in the name of smart girls/kids.
