And because I don't have enough going on, my sis took my dad in to urgent care last night at the VA where after four hours of waiting they put him on IV antibiotics for his foot. Jury still out on if it's fractured, as far as I know.
As of this morning his foot is black (I assume - he actually texted that it was back, which would suggest a much weirder range of diagnosis), but less painful. And also he set up a season pass for White Collar last night. Also also he's glad he brought home chili last night because he is having it for lunch today. And finally also he's going to try to go back to the doctor today as instructed.

I think a black foot might call for that, yeah. (Unless he just means "ridiculously bruised," which sounds like a reasonable outcome of his vehicular adventure. But still worth following up on.)

I think ridiculously bruised is what he means - they did let him go home from the VA last night, so.
(Also, paramedics who took the word of a 75 year old man who just got run over that he didn't need to go to the hospital, thanks bunches.

No, but I don't think "you need to go to the hospital sir" would be out of line. Though I'll accept that it was probably marginal in this case.
