I always stumble projecting east. But I've spent the last couple decades calculating what time it is in NM, so west is a no brainer.

Ok! Time to figure out my shopping list. I'm off work today, had a reasonable amount of sleep and should have missed all the school traffic. Plant/bird feeder hanger, booze, tp, juice...

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I am yet again full of raaaaaaage at this stupid volunteering gig for the ADD group. The chair asked me for a list of all the books in the library, and then a list of all the books that are marked as missing. So I generated them from the database (it was actually pretty time-consuming to do it, because I don't know how to actually run reports from the database).

So she emailed me back and said she needs reports with the publication dates of all the missing books. I want to punch her in her annoying face. If she had told me that at the start, I would have included the fucking dates. Redoing those reports is going to take forever and I don't have that kind of time.

(She's also asked for a lot of other stuff that I can't give her, like a list of which books are checked out most often -- the database doesn't track that information, so I don't have a clue. And she also asked if I've made an effort to track down the people who haven't returned books. Well, YES, but if they don't reply, I'm not going to drive to their houses.)

I am curious what the public library's rate of checked-out-and-never-returned books is. Because ours is kind of high.

Anyway, YES, I am going to resign, but I'm sticking it out through the October meeting, so I have to deal with this crap until I'm done. So full of raaaaaage.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's why we have 4 clocks in the Planning Department, clearly labeled. Of course, that is behind a door from me, but I mostly just have to know what time it is in Eastern and Central time and I have (like sarameg) been making that calculation a long time. Buyt I still like to be able to choose the correct time zone in Google Calendar or wherever, because then it's not me that's figuring it out.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

There should be a clock app for your smartphone that could show several time zones at once? (Maybe I should write one.)

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I have time zone clocks on my calendar and my phone so I know what time it is in San Francisco, NYC, London, Hyderabad, and Tokyo. There are more time zones I could add, but that gives me a pretty good frame of reference for when I can expect people to be working and when to schedule meetings.

I'm so tired. I wanted to sleep in and not do anything, but the painters were scheduled to arrive at 9am, so I dragged myself to the office. I'm putting coffee in my face and hoping my brain comes online at some point so I can start tackling my inbox and To Do list.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm pretty sure there is one. Whenever I've been traveling in different time zones, my dad puts my time zones into his clock app, so that he knows when it's OK to call me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I have a bunch of clocks on my desktop, which is nice for knowing what time it is right now, but it's not as helpful as I would have hoped for future planning.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

If she had told me that at the start, I would have included the fucking dates. Redoing those reports is going to take forever and I don't have that kind of time.

I'm sorry, I don't have time to do that. If it's critical I can give you access to the database.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Oh god. I'm having a total everything-is-overwhelming panic attack meltdown and I can't think of how to stop it. Why don't I make notes about this when I'm NOT melting down? Can't stop hyperventilating unless I hold my breath, but that only works for so long.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'm on a conference call that will not die.
