It's funny that we can know we're dreaming but still try to accomplish whatever it is that the dream set up for us.
I've also had lucid dreams where I've been rude or taken aggressive actions just because I know I'm dreaming and it just doesn't matter what I do. And very occasionally I decide to just end the dream and wake up because the dream is annoying or frightening.

There is some sort of air show going on by my university, and the planes doing maneuvers are scaring the living daylights out of me. Every time one goes by I want to hide under my desk.
Local news has started being more and more openly critical of the Ferguson police. It's looking like martial law out there (edit: in Ferguson, not STL in general). There's a lot of hope that the gov will intervene.

I've wondered. Police don't get up one morning and say, lookit all this riot gear, let's institute martial law! Seems like something bad had to be going on for a while to come to a head like this.
