My MiL ALWAYS asks me what the weather is like, like it's on her conversational checklist (1) say hello (2) talk about weather (3) actual topic of conversation. Her consistency has mad eme notice how ofen I talk about the weather with other people (pretty damn often, ftr). I am for it. It raineth on the just and the unjust, after all.
I am also for Jesse's bus routine of not talking on the bus.
This morning I am realizing that this week got off on the wrong foot when I went to the gym and the pool was closed. I don't think I ever quite got back on track. Oh well, week is almost over now.
I theoretically like Twitter much better than Facebook, but I almost never look at Twitter because I only do that when I feel like it and have time and I check Facebook once a day or so because I feel obligated to try to keep up with some of the people that I otherwise would have no contact at all with.
Im seeing a lot of stuff on FB about Ferguson, but that's because most of my FB friends are Buffistas.
My dad was discharged from the hospital yesterday to a hospice facility in Green Bay. We're at the point of just trying to keep him comfortable. He took a turn for the worse after the trip to Green Bay. Maybe he'll snap back from that, but he's not eating much and we decided against having a feeding tube implanted in his abdomen, so there's not much time left.
Also, Monica and I broke up on Tuesday. Yeah, bad timing but things were not going well for a while and we were both kind of putting off the Discussion. It's been hard--she was my first serious relationship, the first woman I've dated that I thought I could spend the rest of my life with.
Damn, tommyrot, that's a lot to deal with all at once. I'm sorry it's piled on like this.
If it helps brighten your day at all, I was really glad to see you when you were in Cincy.

Thanks. It was nice to see you guys too. Plus all the Buffista support lately has meant a lot to me.
I'm sorry, tommyrot. That's a lot of hard stuff to carry at once.
I'm so sorry, tommy. Sometimes life stress multiplies like that.
The last few weeks I've been reading a lot of apocalypse fiction, which has oddly helped me feel better. I can tell myself, "Well, at least it's not the apocalypse..."
Seriously, this anthology is great:
Amazon.com: The End is Nigh (The Apocalypse Triptych Book 1) eBook: John Joseph Adams, Hugh Howey, Jamie Ford, Paolo Bacigalupi, Seanan McGuire, Sarah Langan, Nancy Kress, Jonathan Maberry, Tananarive Due, Scott Sigler: Books
And that lead me to Hugh Howey's awesome Wool Trilogy books:
Amazon.com: Wool Omnibus Edition (Wool 1 - 5) (Silo Saga) eBook: Hugh Howey: Books
Oof, tommy, that's a lot. Best wishes to you all.
