Yeah, if it's someone he's worked with for three years, and known (even if casually) for a long time, I would definitely say he should go. But it seems a bit much for you to get off work for it, and I doubt the kids would get much out of it, though maybe they'd love a bonfire.

BTW, my dad made it through surgery well. The dr, was really pleased, and though he was cranky this afternoon, the anesthetic hasn't made him confused or disoriented. Thanks for all the ~ma.
