What -- BOTH of you would move?!
I'm just... Wow... Just when you think she can't surprise you.
I truly get how tough it is to make this move, but I honestly feel you are going to be happy once the miserable transition phase is behind you.
Thanks for the ~ma! That went well!
Woo!
Glad to hear it, ita!
ANd yours, Jilli. I think I had an inkling, but not so much specifics. Congrats!
Yay, ita! I hope it leads to good things.
The new job is pretty awesome. We just (as in 5 minutes ago) signed off on a release that, while not perfect, could have been embarrassingly horrible, especially from a content side. The entire management/build/project manager team are haling me as a miracle worker, and congratulation Ryan (the guy who headhunted me) on luring me to them.
After the complete shitstorm that was the last job, praise and validation feels REALLY GOOD.
Yay ita on the interview, and yay Jilli on finding such a good work situation. Even better, on the fact that they came looking for you.
Forget using an ergo desk set-up. My chiropractor want me to work while laying on my belly on the floor at least a couple of hours a day. Should be interesting.

Exactly what I was going to say!
Strix, your nemesis is bafflingly self-centered. I've known people like that and I can never understand them.
My sister's ex is like that. He's an absolute selfish adulterous shit and he thinks he's a great person and a great father and a great husband. Like, he says so. To the woman, mother of his children, whom he cheated on for years and left for his secretary, and fights for every penny of child support or shared retirement she's owed. It's just baffling. He's one of those people who believes he deserves to get whatever he wants just because he wants it, and everyone should be okay with that. (My sister was ranting about him last night, so he's fresh on my mind. She's 14 years older than me, and she started dating him in high school, so I've known the guy since I was two. I've thought he was a bastard since before I knew the word.)

...how? I mean, won't you have to raise your shoulders and head up off the floor to read and type, or something?
Yes, Zen. He wants me in a position where I have to bend my neck back instead of being hunched over and losing the backward curve in my neck. I have a pillow under my chest and am up on my elbows.
Huh -- that makes sense. You work from home mostly, right? That's something, at least.
That sounds great, ita--I'm glad things went well.
I may be a hot mess right now, but I'm a FIGHTING hot mess.
Damn right. Also, this would look great as a sampler.
