One thought, have you tried one of those melatonin sprays? I use this one if I wake up in the middle of the night and it helps me go right back to sleep, but that's a pretty high dose. There may be one that's only 1 mg or 500 mcg, less likely to make you feel sluggish in the morning.
I have not- I will look into it. Usually I try taking a warm bath, which is nice, but doesn't really work so well!
My work email is being upgraded to 1GB (from 250mb). I am so excited I can't even tell you. I have to delete so much, and I have 4 archives going!
Ugh, Teppy and Flea. I hope it works out to be super obvious that the guy was menacing someone else in the house or whatnot and the police just had to (because seriously, if someone kicks down my door, I feel like I ought to have the right to have my shotgun ready?? There's been too many "police raids" on houses that are "no knock" or the wrong house or whatever...just ugh).
I am awake. And showered. I have coffee next to me. But I so don't want to get going with my day, it's going to suck a lot. Have an important meeting first thing (which I have to be super involved in, can't just listen), and shudder at how many emails are probably waiting.

You know- the one time police came into my house I thought they were burglers, and I actually approached them holding a giant book (that I thought I was going to smash the burglers with?) My downstairs neighbors had called because I left my front door open, and they couldn't rouse me. What really happened was I was in the back bedroom, with the tv on, and I heard shouting, but I thought that they were having an argument, so I ignored them.
But anyway, I can see how a mix-up could happen and think someone shouldn't be shot for it.
God luck flea.
Burrell, I hope your FiL heals quickly. Tey are not wrong to describe that as traumatic injury. Gah. I hope Franny is feeling better soon too.
I just finished the written test for the job in Poland...except that I didn't quite finish the test. I answered the first three questions pretty well, except missing one element in one of them. But the fourth question was to examine about a dozen documents from a conference and provide a cover note to the dossier explaining the conference, the venue and providing a brief description of the docs. Except some of the docs had nothing to do with the subject matter...or the dates of the conference and I just didn't have enough time to figure out how they fit. Blargh.
Once again, all the conversations going on in my general vicinity are getting on my nerves. I'm gonna have to figure out some way to deal with that but for today I will just be tense.
Thanks -t. I hope I did well enough on the other questions.
I am off to volunteer at the Greater Chicago Food Depository in a moment. I'm wearing a long-sleeved shirt because a) the instructions said to cover visible tattoos, and b) the volunteer T-shirt we were given is white and nearly see-through when I am NOT sweating up a storm. Why does no one think of these things in the design process?
I'm sorry for people having bad days. My day is going okay, though anything old be better than yesterday, which involved several stupid clusterfucks and ended with me having to talk myself it of going to yell at the neighbors who had three cars parked in the fire lane.
Should I spend $150 on this stress-reduction thingie? It clips to your belt or bra and alerts you when your breathing indicates you're stressed, encouraging you to take deep breaths to relax.
I think it might be helpful for me, because often I'm stressed and don't realize it.
