OMG. meep. Good thing happened just now.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Zenkitty, have you tried tubing? When I visited a friend in Charlottesville in 2005, she took me to a place where they drive you upstream and then send you down a fairly calm river in innertubes. We brought a cooler and got a smaller tube for that. It was lovely--we chatted and drifted, half submerged in a cool river on a hot day I'm pretty sure it was well under $20, albeit 10 years ago

Calli, that place (or a similar) is still there. My niece does it sometimes. I haven't done it, for a few reasons but mainly because I hate how I look in a swimsuit. If I ever lose 40 pounds, maybe I'll do it. Thanks for the rec, though, I appreciate that you're thinking of stuff for me!

chewed through the cord on my laptop's power adapter.

I think if they ever get a shock from it, they'll stop, but I hope you can find a way to discourage them before they get a shock. I'm surprised and lucky that my cats don't do that, as much as they like to chase after things that look like snakes/worms.

I am sitting in on a two-hour conference call, mostly about stuff that doesn't pertain to my job. Yawn. My hair looks awesome; too bad it isn't a video conference.

Somebody just said "low-hanging fruit". That should result in a firing.

Best line so far: "We're a non-profit, not a charity. They gotta pay the bill."

Yay good thing, Sox!

Not silly at all! Buy the world a Coke! You go girl!

I'm so sad to hear that. Tubing is awesome!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I will say, I find being around lots of people in bathing suits to be the best thing -- there are lots of people of all shapes and sizes out there! Many of them in bikinis!

I got an invite for a speed networking event later this month. How quickly did I decline that? So quickly, you guys.

I can believe France doesn't have ADHD. I mean, if there is a diagnosis standard that makes it impossible to be diagnosed with it, then there must be none, right? If there is no WORD for something then the thing refuses to exist until the name brings it to light? Like if had no word for the flu or colds, people would stop having them?

Yeah, the same guy on FB commented that "ADD didn't exist until it was created for the DSM2."

Because without a name for it, it just didn't exist. Right. (Seriously, that makes me so full of raaaaaaaaage.)

And then he goes on to say the US should follow France's example and "put down the pills" and change the diets of kids with ADD and be stricter parents and things would be better.

Okay, (1) I thought France "didn't have" ADD, so how is there even a non-pharmaceutical treatment protocol IF THEY DON'T HAVE IT???, and (2) my husband, who was unmedicated until he was in his 30s, vehemently disagrees that he needed a different diet and stricter parents. What the shit.
