don't actually enjoy the process of cooking all that much
I definitely do. I get this, though. I don't enjoy the process of cleaning. Or grading. Or, perhaps less obviously, doing crafty things.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

where's the line between "guidelines" and a "recipe"?
You've got a Pirate Code for chili.
I feel pretty good about that. Yarrrr.
I would say I "use a recipe" if I look at a piece of paper (regardless of how closely I actually follow it...) .
Good luck, Strix and Plei! It does seem like we should be able to swap stuff more within this community...
Keep checking in with us, Typo.
Blood sugar is back up. 59 was borderline dangerous. 62, while low is not passed out on the floor low, but now it is up to 90. (So off the interbunny for a bit to do some exercise to see if I can avoid the "over 150 bounceback". I knew the bowl of cereal was a step too far. )
Sorry about the roller coaster, Typo.
Eep, Typo! Stay safe.
Good luck typo.
Lots of rental-ma Strix.
Tons of ~ma to Plei and Strix. And I hope you’re okay, Typo! Check in and let us know once you’ve stabilized.
I, too, adulted well today. I ran five miles (slowly starting to run again after all that time off to recover from the tendonitis), tutored for an hour, and then spent the entire afternoon cleaning and doing laundry. I even cleaned out the fridge!
Now I need to do one last assignment for my grad class, and then I plan to slounge.
Blessings on the head of my supervisor at tonight's house. She called during supper to say, "You have lots of PTO, the snow's getting worse, I'm coming in at 7:30 so you can go home early." (Both she and the overnight person live spitting distance from the house, but it's 11 miles for me.) She rolls in at 7:35, saying "I'm sorry, I should have been here ages ago. In fact, I should have found coverage so you didn't have to come in at all. This snow is ridiculous. By the way, my teenage son is brushing off your car."
By the time I put my shoes on and got out to my car, I had to brush it off again. Driving home along the state highway, I could see taillights in the distance, but the tracks had already filled in. Blessings on the heads of those who made the decision and did the work of including rumble strips along the center line and shoulder.
