Federal tax refund received. Going to admire the balance in my checking for a moment and then put it in savings and forget it happened. My version of savings these days.

I need to do my taxes this weekend. Ugh.
It's almost 9 and I haven't eaten dinner yet, although it's just out of the oven now. I was going to make lemon pepper tilapia with pasta, but I am working late due to shenanigans so I went with flatbread because it's quick.
This week has been brutal.
I concur, shrift, and I wasn't even international. Pool better be fine tomorrow, I need my 2 miles. My 3/8 of a mile tonight didn't undo today's stress kinks. And I've got to make cookies for the Monday senior review from hell and I have to find time this weekend, which...I don't know. It'll happen, but possibly in wee smalls. I'm out of sugar and butter. So no prep tonight.
Unless date night or sexytimes are involved, dinner at 9 is pretty much a recipe for disaster in my experience. Much sympathy~ma.
And sarameg, I love how even when life is crazy there is still time for cookies.
Franny's icky teacher is having a big Pi Day celebration tomorrow, so we got a pie. And are now baking a big sugar coated "pi" to decorate it.
I was going to send out Pi Day cards, but I failed at getting the cards in time. I blame the snowstorm. So next year I will send out Pi Day cards.
My project lead basically begged me to bake more for this review. They helped her recover from the fury-tears and have been inhaled by the team this week. I think she's applied some superstition to em, but they're tasty and safe and she's at wit's end so I'll cave.
I made a pi pie for a shindig tomorrow night. Not a Pi Day shindig; just a generic shindig. But there will be pi pie. (It's my lazy frozen pie: 2 containers of yogurt [I used strawberry], mixed with 1 container of Cool Whip, poured into a graham cracker crust and frozen. I made a pi symbol on top with chocolate chips.)
Mmmm, pi pie.
Much sympathy~ma.
Thanks, Burrell.
I'm often at the office until 6 to help out the west coast, so I tend to eat dinner late on weekdays, usually between 7 and 8. This would be a disaster to my sister, who usually feeds her kids by 5:30.
I usually try to have leftovers to pop in the microwave when I drag myself home this late after spending too much time drafting things for lawyers to sign off on, but there has been too much going on recently.
I think I'm going to crawl into bed and watch some Adventure Time.
Comfort and virtual cocktails, shrift, that sounds exhausting.
I am going to run a 5K (which starts at 9:26 or whatever the appropriate next digits are...better look that up) and get pie at the end!
I don't, however, understand why after I have been attempting to run for YEARS now, I still can't run for three minutes and not have my heart rate be above what they think my max should be. Seriously, how can I STILL be so out of shape???
