We didn't have sex, if that's what you mean. That's all I do now, not have sex.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Shall I recommend a different one here than on FB? The Eyre Affair.

The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers is a cute episodic novel heavily influenced by Firefly. Except with more aliens. And more sex. And alien sex. It wasn't the best thing since sliced bread, but it's a nice lightweight novel, and it's pretty cheap.

Sherwood Smith's Rondo Allegro is a fun drama/romance set during the Napoleonic wars in France, Spain and England. There is a marriage of convenience, and lots of opera, and battles at sea, and evil in-laws, and so forth. I really enjoyed it.

The Martian by Andy Weir is basically Apollo 13 set now, on Mars: an American astronaut gets stranded on Mars and has to figure out how to survive while folks on Earth slowly realize he's not dead. It's hella fun, although a bit heavy on the science.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

All of those sound great!

I think alien sex may be the winner though

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

I'm currently reading London Under by Peter Ackroyd and it's a pretty interesting read so far. [link]

I quite enjoyed The Martian

You know they're making a movie? Which surprises me not at all, since it really is so very cinematic. I just hope they cast someone who can do comedy as the guy (I forget his name), because you really need some humor for a lot of that.

I'm taking a vacation day because I have a rare day without meetings, the ice isn't melting fast enough and I have to burn days before the end of the month (obligatory fuck you CSC.) Going to attempt to make it productive, but I'm already thwarted by a Loki on my lap preventing a second cup of coffee.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I think obligatory days off should not have to be productive. Like that should be the point.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I agree with Kat
