Helene Fisher was talking about one-sided "being in love." The point she made, which I thought was sort of brilliant, is that when it happens, instead of fighting it, you can enjoy all of the "being in love" junk as long as you accept that you're the only one feeling it.
I had that once with a friend who was married but also smitten with me and it was okay despite the lack of true reciprocity. But I suffered delayed heartbreak about 5 years later when she had an actual affair with someone and called me up to tell me all about it in all it's glorious melodrama and I could hear how in love she was and... yeah.... That part sucked.
But a crush is different, or at least my crushes manifest differently than being in love. I think the best way to throw cold water on a crush is to avoid avoid avoid, and remind yourself the feelings aren't gonna be returned.
Stent ~ma for your dad, -t.
I cannot bring myself to wear brown shoes with any black clothing. Brown shoes are only for jeans+{non-black top}. I have a lot of black tops, and a lot of brown shoes that don't get worn much.

I feel that. That was me, until this winter, when I stopped giving a crap. (Also, I don't currently have black shoes I like that go with jeans, so it's ballet flats or brown grandpa shoes.)
Do you mean brown wing tips? If I had brown wing tips I'd wear the hell out of them. But not with black pants.
Dang, this conversation makes me want new shoes. I already wanted exercise shoes, now I want the aforementioned wing tips too. And a new pair of dress sandals would be good.

No, my grandpa shoes are these, in brown: [link] They just look like a grandpa would wear them.
I love those grampa shoes and have several similar pairs! Ever since I had foot surgery, I gave up on "cute" shoes. Comfortable is queen. If they happen to be cute too, that's just a perk.
-t, tons of ~ma for your dad.
