At first I thought my place had been broken into and ransacked, but as I looked around it became clear that valuables hadn't been touched and the havoc was confined to the living room. So apparently my cats threw some kind of unholy fit that included flinging a couch cushion heavier than the two of them put together to the floor and somehow unlocking the arm frame of my sofa.

Medium size, about 9 lbs. each. If there were a sizeable dog in the apartment I guess this wouldn't surprise me, but it looks like a human being went on an angry bender in there.
