Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I've been ordering things through Amazon lately that I could very easily buy at a local store, things like socks. Not unique, Amazon is the only place to ever have these delightful socks at an affordable price, socks - white quarter socks with grey toe and heel just like 85% of the other socks in my sock drawer. Only, you know, with fewer holes in the heels. I've done this enough to make me question if I'm depressed. But then I looked at the outdoor temperature. It's 1 degree Farenheit. Yeah, that's not depression. That's rational thinking.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, I don't want to deal with my car right now, so I pretty much buy stuff from Amazon if I can't find it near work, home or a train stop.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Yeah, we're looking at some single digit temps coming this week here, too. Not NC's usual thIng, even in February.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Federal government is closed today, so here I am. At some point I'll have to go out and remove the snow from my car.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Is Anne around? I am trying to remember what yard we used to knit Joss's baby things. I made mittens from the leftover for a friend and she has lost one. They were very warm, so I wanted to try to get similar yarn.

I'm pretty sure it was Plymouth Encore.

I very nearly ordered a long-handled dust pan off Amazon because I have not been able to find one in stores around here, except for janitorial level things costing $30 bucks. Fortunately, housemate said "There's one in the kitchen, here, see?"

Hence the need for cleaning and uncluttering supplies.

ION, the front page of USA Today has a story about mysterious plumes from the surface of Mars. Physicists are baffled because that shouldn't be possible due to lack of atmosphere. One even said, "I don't think it's real."

Has no one read "War of the Worlds"???

I don't think the Martians will come to Earth and invade--not after they've seen this Winter in Boston.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I don't think our weather will discourage beings used to an average of -80°F, but all the coughing, sneezing, and runny noses should scare them off if they know what's good for them.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Has anyone else ever wondered what a Fleet Foxes cover of the "Where oh where are you tonight" song from Hee Haw would sound like?
