And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Goat is delicious, but I've never had it prepared anywhere that wasn't full of bones - in both Jamaican and Indian curries, the preparation method seems to be to just hack it to pieces with a cleaver and throw it in the sauce. But if you're willing to pick around a little, dayum, so nummy.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Goat is okay, but I don't like lamb.

More lamb for me, yay! It is easily my favorite meat. I've also enjoyed goat the few times I've had it.

The few times I've had venison, it was poorly prepared (cooked to the point of dryness) but I think I would like it if it were prepared well.

brillig

Lord, out here in the West, it's the default to put peppers in everything. I despise peppers! They burn my tongue, and the really hot ones affect my lungs! Why is there peppers in my egg salad sandwich!

I need to force myself to try vegetables. My mother was a vegetable-mush cook as well, along with pork-chops-equal-leather. Daddy was happy to eat it all.

ION, I just had an interesting political discussion with some co-workers on net neutrality and utilities and the purpose of government and why it's important that we at least try to get some fair treatment for all people.

This talking to people thing has its upsides.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Goat? Yay!

Lamb? Yay!

Buffalo? Yay!

Ho? Yay!

I had venison too young, I think, and possibly not prepared well, but I'd try it again. I will try goat one of these days. For sure. Rabbit meat is supposed to be tasty; I've never had it.

I once bit into the hottest pepper known to humankind while eating Ethiopian food, so I've been gun shy there. Oh, man. I'm sure my memory is being a drama queen, but I feel like I couldn't taste anything for hours. Definitely the rest of the meal was a wash.

It reminded me mostly of pot roast.

I do love me some pot roast. Noted.

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

If you've got Indian Buffet anywhere near you - that was how I sampled goat. (I'm not a fan) But then still had lovely chicken tikka and some kind of curry, so no loss.

That's how I did it too. I file it away with raccoon as something I'm glad I ate once to be able to say I did it, but never again.

Alligator is pretty good, and I like the idea of eating something that occasionally inserts itself above humans in the food chain. I *wish* there were somewhere nearby to get conch, but even Memphis is down to a Bahama Breeze franchise as the closest thing to Caribbean food.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Rabbit is good, too. I've never had buffalo, I don't think. I've never encountered bones in goat meat, but I haven't had it in stew; I've had it in gyros.

Vegetarians, I'm so sorry. Avert your eyes.

Buffalo is beef's healthier, better-tasting sibling.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

You've had goat in gyros? I thought they were only lamb.

How is goat different from lamb, taste-wise? I'm curious.
