I had a meeting with a student at 11 today and she was amazed at how awake I was! I said I have been awake for 5 hours! 11 is the best time of the day. Most of the time my students see me after my day job, and I am a draggy tired mess.

Thing I don't have that I've been contemplating but keep telling myself I don't need and won't use enough: waffle maker.
I do have an electric kettle left by an old roommate. It does occasionally come in handy.
I am feeling MUCH less gronked than I was yesterday, but still have yet to be dressed enough to leave the house. Am contemplating Home Depot, especially during the football game that is about to start.

I've got one. My sister got it for me for Chanukah a few years ago. For a while, I was using it nearly every weekend, but I haven't used it for a few months now. (I've got a really good yeasted waffle recipe, so you measure and mix all the ingredients at night, then let it rise overnight, and then you've just got to heat up the waffle iron and pour in the batter in the morning. I am not capable of measuring stuff and following a recipe before I've had something to eat in the morning.)
Good morning! Coffee. Coffeeeeeeeeeee.
I love Adagio teas. I have bought far too much tea from them than I can possibly drink given my coffee addiction.
Walking the lovely dogs, even in weather, sounds great. And then off to see AmyP in the afternoon!
I want an electric kettle, because I keep wondering what some of the teas I love would taste like if they were brewed at the correct temperature, instead of boiling water.
If I were to go back and buy one again, I would buy this beauty: [link]
A friend of mine has this one, or something like, and it's remarkably engaging watching the water boil.
God that's beautiful. And exorbitant.
So sticking a mug of water in the microwave and hitting beverage, then dunking in a tea bag is not the way to good tea?
I need to figure out which one I really like, pekoe or oolong. I don't drink it often enough to remember which one makes me really happy. I think I need to sneak into someplace that does continental breakfasts and snitch bags of both so I can experiment.
I have a very simple electric kettle; doesn't even have an on/off switch. It's either plugged in or not. It's amazing for quick tea. I don't know what I did without it. I'm a Mighty Leaf addict thanks to the House of Reason, but I recently bought a bunch of Adagio for my SIL. Looks great!
