I want an electric kettle, because I keep wondering what some of the teas I love would taste like if they were brewed at the correct temperature, instead of boiling water.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

If I were to go back and buy one again, I would buy this beauty: [link]

A friend of mine has this one, or something like, and it's remarkably engaging watching the water boil.

God that's beautiful. And exorbitant.

brillig

So sticking a mug of water in the microwave and hitting beverage, then dunking in a tea bag is not the way to good tea?

I need to figure out which one I really like, pekoe or oolong. I don't drink it often enough to remember which one makes me really happy. I think I need to sneak into someplace that does continental breakfasts and snitch bags of both so I can experiment.

The status is NOT quo.

I have a very simple electric kettle; doesn't even have an on/off switch. It's either plugged in or not. It's amazing for quick tea. I don't know what I did without it. I'm a Mighty Leaf addict thanks to the House of Reason, but I recently bought a bunch of Adagio for my SIL. Looks great!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

You all make me wish I liked tea (I like fruit "tea," which actually has no true tea leaves in it, and is probably correctly called a tisane or a herbal infusion or something, except the word "tea" is WAY easier to type; I usually call it "hippie fruit tea" and when I referred to it thusly, a co-worker told me she looked for "hippie fruit tea" at the Kroger but couldn't find it, and where could she buy that brand? so you can see I have problems with nomenclature), but I have yet to find a true tea -- black, green, white -- that I like. My taste buds are fussy.

ION, I went to Urgent Care, the doctor exclaimed over the color of my snot, and now I have gigantic antibiotic pills. Even the receptionist told me on the way out "Oooh, you got the *good* antibiotics!"

And now I want a nap, but we need to go to the grocery store. I am going to buy a LOT of broccoli. (It's on sale; I like to roast it; step 3: profit!)

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Right now I'm drinking White Tea of Kings, a fandom blend (LotR) made with Earl Grey Moonlight, Cream and Snowbud. It is wonderfully delicious, light and creamy for a black tea.

Oooh, I did not! Time to shop.

I hop the pills work, Tep. Yay, broccoli!
