I'm sorry, dad. You know I would never have tried to save River's life if I had known there was a dinner party at risk.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I wanted to sleep like the dead, so I took benedryl and nyquil last night, but still woke up midway through with post-nasal drip, argh. Went for a walk with my sister and had pancakes for breakfast, and now I need to do something with my day.

Shower and then bread-making, I think. I've stopped buying bread mostly; instead I make a couple of loaves of oatmeal bread, slice them and stick them in the freezer. So I have bread when I need it, and I know exactly what's in it.

Then maybe the last episode of The Roosevelts, and vacuuming.

That's a plan.

I hope everyone has a more interesting day than me...

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

My electric kettle has been a revelation. My ex-aunt-in-law gave me some really nice tea because she didn't know what else to get me and she's a flight attendant who flies the China route. Then I got a teapot. Then the kettle. Now I have a tea habit that would be cost prohibitive if I didn't prefer weaker tea. I really love my electric kettle.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Interesting days are sometimes overrated. Sometimes you need a day to just do mundane, non-taxing stuff, and stare at the wall. Or out a window. Or at the tv.

Coherency improving. I think.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I don't have the tea habit some b.org folk have, but a former student introduced me to the joys of good oolong tea a couple of years ago and that's been my go-to tea ever since.

I love my electric kettle as well. I only drink coffee at home on the weekends (between having to spend time making it and needing a third hand between my purse and my briefcase), so I use a Melitta cone and the electric kettle is perfect for that.

I used to swap to tea when allergies and such demanded Sudafed. Here it's enough that I just generally swapped to tea. Plus I only drink coffee with some kind of dairy and TJ's is far. So, tea. Oolong family, generally. The jasmine is green though.

I should really look into a Melitta cone. I still love coffee but even half a pot is way too much for my body and I'll drink it all if I make it.

Oh, I know! I bought myself a fancy Cuisinart kettle on sale that has preset buttons for different temperatures and now I order way more tea from Adagio Teas than I need.

Of course! Because we share the same tastes so very very often.

I've spent the day catching up here, and it took longer than I thought it would. Worth the investment, and now I hope to keep up.
