Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Well run myself down and thumbs up to you, Aims.

Only the best for my beloveds.

Allyson, the shininess of your hair is beyond measure or description.

I'm going to start volunteering at a horse therapy program.

Yay, you!

And yay, Sean!

I'm kind of stuck waiting on other people to offer me a role in another org so I can get the hell out of the service org I'm in. It wasn't so bad being in this group before the reorg, but since then it's been an unrelenting parade of bullshittery. I want to get back to helping keep people safe on the internet because that actually matters to me, but I realize I have very little control over that right now.

I hit a critical point in decision fatigue before the end of every work day, so it makes sense that I have no energy to be creative and think and write. But until someone gives me the opportunity to change roles, I need to find more time to do things that I love, because this week we are all bitterly aware that time is finite.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I am an Oxford Comma convert (pro) and my cousin tells me on Facebook how wrong I am. I immediately asked him his opinion on cilantro before I decided to throw him out of the family. He survived the cut.

I sometimes forget everyone isn't us.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I think we all need to win the lottery. Or a few of us can win a few big pots.

My boss hates the Oxford comma. I'm not allowed to use it for most stuff. Torture!

I have some concerns as to whether I would pass a background check for the FBI. Or maybe I would, considering I passed a rigorous and gnarly background check for my current employer. Who knows?

I suspect I have a file due to that time I worked for the United States Information Agency before it got folded into the State Department. Over the years, a friend I met there liked to send me emails with the word "bomb" in them whenever he was doing contract work in the Middle East. Good times.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I saw that. It made me laugh my butt off.
