Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yes, Jessica. Smooosh versus smooth is a big difference. Of course I'm not sure what smoothing would be in that context. Maybe a spa day with an exfoliating scrub? In which case, go smooth!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Just a note to reiterate that Buffistas are the best people in the world.

I have no words.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jess, I'd rephrase "weren't waiting on more info" so that it doesn't sound like you are saying "to see if there were any more hoops you wanted me the jump through."

I actually liked it because it puts the delay on Jess if at all possible -- Is there anything I'm not doing that you need? -- vs. what's taking you so long??!!??!?!?

...which is to say, you're fine either way. Different people read things differently and a good-faith effort shouldn't be seen badly by the people on the other side of the screen.

I am ready for some smoothing myself.

Good point Jesse. I was just hearing an implicit "I did everything you asked, what more do you want from me?" which is mostly just ME AND MY ISSUES and not really implied in what Jessica wrote.

Ack!

Don't mind me, I am just living in the Land of the Drama Llamas lately. I worry that I may be the Queen, although I feel like I'm really just her faithful maid servant.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I usually say something like "I wanted to make sure you have everything you need from me."

Just a note to reiterate that Buffistas are the best people in the world.

Yes. Yes, they are.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

OK! I have done work stuff. I have rescheduled hair appointment due to rescheduled work stuff. I have purchased presents to be delivered to my sister's house (thanks in part to Buffista suggestions!)...I now only need presents for her and for my brother. And my roommate, possibly. And to SHIP some other presents. And maybe find something awesome for my roommate, but I have no idea what.

Other onerous tasks remain, however. Putting off some by doing others is good but...only for so long.

I was not trying to say you have issues! You are fine!!!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

So that was quick - basically they dropped the offer because I asked for too much money, which I kind of suspected but isn't it more standard to just offer less and then let me accept or decline?

Anyway, is there a non-pathetic way to backtrack and say "Actually my work situation sucks so much now I'd be willing to work for a lot less!" I'm thinking the word "flexible" will come into play...
