Just hearing or reading the word cues it, Burrell. But then it usually segues into "There once was an ugly duckling..." so there you go. "And then we drink!"
Which we will do when Calli, ita, and Plei are all gainfully employed.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Me, too please? Uber doesn't really count as a job.
Although, I DO get paid today.
So…
I was gone 2 weeks and essentially nothing got done that was supposed to happen. That had to happen.
People seem to think 1. I care and 2. I'm going to do something about it.
And IT, with your urgent new software installs and training and horseshit? Yeah, I'm not gonna be able to do that. Bite me.
But hey, I got a raise.
Of 1%.
Now have unofficially gotten word of 2 people leaving CSC come the new year. One is in our branch (and we're kerfucked on the work she does) and another is pretty much one of the guys the mission will cut off their own heads to keep, so I'm guessing he's just jumping contracts.
The fun begins.
I have some good CJ!school news. We met with an advisor at the community college he wants to go to and the Fire Science program is not competitive entry, so he is all set to schedule classes next spring for the fall.
He also got his ACT scores back and he scored a 27. His school average was 22. The advisor was thrilled with his score and really underlined that the AA program he is looking at is fully transferable to a 4 year degree at another local college. And with his smarts, he should really plan on getting a 4 year degree eventually.
Today we met with his HS advisor to updates his 2nd semester classes. His only required class is College Prep Writing. But he needs at least 4 other classes to be considered a full time student so now he has Adventure Aide (he has TA'ed in this class multiple times), Sports Training, Sports Medicine, and Theater. Rough schedule, eh? Actually the Sports Medicine will be more rigorous than the others.
That is great news, Suzi! I'm sure he's thrilled and you are too! 27 is a really good score on the ACT, too, if I recall correctly.
(You didn't get lost in all the hijinks over in Bitches; I saw you!)

I did, too! And that is excellent news! Is he happy about it?
Yes. Such a change from a year ago. The college advisor suggested he get in the habit of two hours of studying for every classroom hour. He is not a studier (is that a word?), so that will be a challenge.
Personally, I'm thrilled. He got a taste of scholastic praise (based on his ACT scores). I'm hoping that will provide some inspriation to prepare for the rigors of college. Just cause it is a community college doesn't mean it won't be tough.
Awesome, Suzi! Here's hoping he likes that taste of success and craves more!
That is great Suzi.
