Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Polgara, I'm just impressed anyone can sleep through anything--I ended up sleeping in Frannie's bed, and they just scooped her up and moved her and she looked sleepy as shit. No worries--it all worked out.

EXCEPT MY INTERVIEW HAS BEEN PUSHED BACK TO ELEVEN. I AM FREAKING OUT. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE THE HARD, TECHNICAL, CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE ONE.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Good luck, ita!

This whole job hunt thing continues to drain my soul. Still less than the job was, but the whole holiday time while unemployed is making me sad. And vaguely panicked, because hiring's slowed down, and by the time it picks up, if it does, I'll be near the end of my unemployment benefits.

How do you guys find recruiters? When you're job hunting, what do you do? I've sort of run out of networking in my circle, as most of the employed people I know work at my old company, and none of the rest work in places that have jobs that fit the bill.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Lots of job~ma!

Looks like I will be learning Visual Basic, at least enough to be the designated Excel Macro guru for our department. Whee? Should make for something like job security for a little while, I suppose.

Ugh, headache is currently beating my Aleve, and I have to keep the miniutes for my next meeting. Bleh.

I used LinkedIn, and friended every recruiter they suggested and sent out my resumes to them as soon as I got permission.

At least one of those has been very useful, although the company that's gotten me this far with interviews was just a suggestion from someone at work.

Seriously--just google local recruiters and slam 'em all.

I can't breathe I'm so nervous. I have promised myself pizza no matter how it goes. And the nice pizza that doesn't deliver.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You can do it, ita!!

So I restarted my browser and it seems to have solved my problems.

LinkedIn suggests recruiters for you?

Huh.

I'm not entirely sure that there's the same kind of recruiter culture in Seattle that there is elsewhere. I haven't really gotten any traction there.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Fingers crossed, ita!

I restarted my computer and it sucks less. Not that I've fired up Chrome yet--Opera Classic is plenty fast.

Okay, interview done and it felt okay, but I dunno. Will debrief with recruiters, go get pizza and run errands.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Gosh, I'm tired, having Ubered for nearly 6 hours (with breaks, i.e. jelly donuts -- I now know there's a convenient DD in the South End with a parking lot!), for a total of 75 miles and nearly $150 in fares. (That's total miles, including going to pick up people and cruising around looking for a place to park).

The time does go fast, at least. I do really really want a regular job and soon, but at least I'm keeping the wolf at a court-mandated 300 feet away.
