Lots of job~ma!
Looks like I will be learning Visual Basic, at least enough to be the designated Excel Macro guru for our department. Whee? Should make for something like job security for a little while, I suppose.
Ugh, headache is currently beating my Aleve, and I have to keep the miniutes for my next meeting. Bleh.
How do you guys find recruiters?
I used LinkedIn, and friended every recruiter they suggested and sent out my resumes to them as soon as I got permission.
At least one of those has been very useful, although the company that's gotten me this far with interviews was just a suggestion from someone at work.
Seriously--just google local recruiters and slam 'em all.
I can't breathe I'm so nervous. I have promised myself pizza no matter how it goes. And the nice pizza that doesn't deliver.
You can do it, ita!!
So I restarted my browser and it seems to have solved my problems.
LinkedIn suggests recruiters for you?
Huh.
I'm not entirely sure that there's the same kind of recruiter culture in Seattle that there is elsewhere. I haven't really gotten any traction there.
I restarted my computer and it sucks less. Not that I've fired up Chrome yet--Opera Classic is plenty fast.
Okay, interview done and it felt okay, but I dunno. Will debrief with recruiters, go get pizza and run errands.
Gosh, I'm tired, having Ubered for nearly 6 hours (with breaks, i.e. jelly donuts -- I now know there's a convenient DD in the South End with a parking lot!), for a total of 75 miles and nearly $150 in fares. (That's total miles, including going to pick up people and cruising around looking for a place to park).
The time does go fast, at least. I do really really want a regular job and soon, but at least I'm keeping the wolf at a court-mandated 300 feet away.
fingers crossed, ita. and yay! pizza!
Yay, pizza!
Yay wolf respecting the restraining order (I am picturing Theo & the Wolf much like Prof Duncan & Senor Chang (now with Peter & the Wolf as the soundtrack. This is getting to be pretty entertaining!))
