My old crazy boss once told the two fat people (me and someone else) that we could not wear sleeveless in the office because we disgusted her.
By "old" I hope you mean "former." Ugh.
I wouldn't wear shorts to work, but I work in an overly ACed office environment so they wouldn't really be comfortable. I'm not much into short skirts either, as I don't want to bother tracking what my knees are doing when I'm sitting somewhere away from my desk.
With shorts you can refer to the inseam without dealing with the torso/arm length variables.
I kind of wish I hadn't seen the SCOTUS news today. I swear, women will have to incorporate to maintain any rights if certain people continue to get their way. One (comedian) friend did point out that if the AMA classifies children as a disease, birth-control will be covered as a vaccination.
I wore Business Shorts in the 90s, and didn't know they were scandalous (they were) because they came with a jacket! And were knee-length! But I was also working in a super conservative office, so.
With shorts you can refer to the inseam without dealing with the torso/arm length variables.
An excellent point.
I think in this case "an inseam" would be appropriate, rather than "no inseam whatsoever".
I am thinking now of when I was my student's age and I had chambray pants that I wore to work. We had a no-denim jeans rule, but to me they were not jeans because they were not denim and they were kind of flowy. I figured I would wear them and see if someone said anything. No one said anything, but at the end of the year, I didn't get a raise because I broke dress code. I was really mad, and I still think someone should have probably said something, but on the other hand, I can't believe I expected a non-costume/sewing type person to distinguish chambray pants from denim j.
I definitely had to tell an employee that her denim trousers were not OK in a no-jeans office. Now I wonder if they might have been chambray, but I'm pretty sure they were denim.
If you have to fondle the fabric to determine if the pants qualify, they may be too close.
I know that now. Although I am pretty sure that the rule was just "no denim" not no jeans! And they weren't denim! But that is really pedantic.
A vague dress code is no one's friend.
How much Advil can I take in one day?
I'm so sorry, Zen. That sounds awful. I don't know about Advil dosages, though.
