Now I'm trying to picture the Spartacus invocation ritual.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2013: That Was the Year That Was
Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Thanksgivukkahmas, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Out you go, 2013!
I forgot the candles and ceremonial dagger.
Press one for goat or say "goats".
EPIC!! Where the Wild Things Are knitting needles. You GUYS! They are the awesome. Thank you Thank you Thank you!
AND I got a foxy card from Spartacus.
I am wondering in my little head if this thread should be shut down OR if the spirit of Spartacus is such that something new is needed.
If we close the thread (now would be the time, yes, maybe even a little late already) where would Spartacus news go? Natter?
Yay, glad you like them! Enjoy!
Well, I'm glad I got to sneak in to say that you all are wonderful.
I got an adorable card from Spartacus today. It would NOT have been more perfect.
The sentiment on the front is "The weatherman said that today was a good day to send sunshine to somebody you love". Inside, there are 17 suns, ALL labeled Spartacus!
The thing is, this has been the harshest winter I've ever experienced. The weather has been intolerable and, today, it has been so grey and dreary and damp-chilled. Demoralizing.
The sunny sentiment and sweet nature of the Buffista I'm pretty sure sent it, really lifted my day.
Thank you so much!
One other thought about the thread. I don't want to subvert the natural order of things but I've really appreciated that, a fourth of the way into the year, there is a place to mention nice things we do for each other.
Nice to reflect on that rather than remembering all the hard stuff at the end of the year.
Doesn't slacker secret santa run through the end of March? Am I remembering that wrong?
Nice to reflect on that rather than remembering all the hard stuff at the end of the year.
This is such a lovely sentiment, bonny!
Thanks, Kat. I really do love our loving of each other.
That, and I think being on day 174 of Shawn Achor's 21 day happiness program has had an effect.
Not that times aren't hard...in fact, today was the culmination of an intense stresser that has effected me so much over the last 3 years, my burden of anxiety hasn't lifted...it is actively looking for a new place to live. I don't even know how to be me with this change.
Anyhoo, it's been so helpful to me over the last few months to have the joy found in GBGR to reflect on.
As they say, a rising tide lifts all boats.
