No king cake till Jan 6!

I am having friends over for dinner tomorrow and I'm going to try to make a Galette des roi. I've made Franipane before, and I'm using store-bought puff pastry, so it shouldn't be too difficult.

Hey I get (real) king cake when I can.
I would take all the king cake I could have, but it's not a thing around here. Also, I'd have to buy a whole one, and then I'd EAT it. (I still remember when one of my coworkers had a trip to New Orleans or Baton Rouge for work, and came back with a king cake! We all traveled so much we didn't usually do that sort of thing, but it was awesome)
