I was less than wowed by Masters of the Universe: Revelation. It wasn't terrible, but it mixes the cheesiness of the old cartoon with modern storytelling sensibilities in a way that ends up feeling awkward. Sometimes a hero comes out of nowhere to save the day and other times characters just die and it ends up feeling very inconsistent.

Yeah. It's a direct follow-up to the 80s cartoon and literally starts off like it's a better animated and acted episode of the original cartoon before taking a turn at the end.
The cast is excellent, including SMG as Teela, Mark Hammil as Skeletor and Lena Headley as Evil-Lyn and I think the general bones are good, the execution is just somewhat lacking.
