Then the long wait for the 2nd season that I'm pretty sure we are going to get.
'Objects In Space'
Animation 1: I'm Not Bad, I'm Just Drawn That Way
A thread to discuss television and online animation.
This week's Korra mostly felt like it was getting things into position for the end game, but it had some enjoyable moments, IMO. I loved Korra talking to Zuko, and Zuko's reaction to hearing about who Korra met in the spirit world.
I also love that Zuko was in a hurry to get back to the Fire Nation to ensure his daughter's safety. Such a big, big change from the way the Fire Nation royal family used to be.
I liked a lot about this episode! Do not want to wait for the next one.
The jumping around the air temple reminded me of Assassins Creed.
Also, happy to learn that the Xbox has a nick app! So watched it on there. Much better than pushing from the iPad to the Apple TV.
I was happy to see Tenzin smacking Zaheer around after him being to untouchable previously (though Kya did give him a close fight earlier in the season.) I just hope Tenzin's going to be okay. I don't know if that was a "preserve the mystery" not showing or a "this is a kid's show" not showing.
That said, speaking of kid's shows, I've been watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars via Netflix, and holy crap is that show violent. No blood, but clones die horribly in just about every episode, people get stabbed with lightsabers, an episode I watched recently had a kid get shot and die and another had people get blown up under water leaving chunks behind. Yeesh. Definitely not letting Mattias watch for a few years, yet.
Oh, yeah, a lot of death on Clone Wars.
Well. To be fair. It does have "wars" in it's name. Just because it is animated doesn't mean it's for kids.
I'm well aware animation doesn't automatically mean something is for kids, but the show was intended as such (though on the older side of the spectrum). Much like the movies. That and there are some weird tonal shifts and varying violence levels (plus random Jar Jar being an idiot but somehow still winning the day episodes) that makes me wonder if everyone was on the same page as to whom their target audience was.
I agree. And some of the episode plot lines were heavy. Which prompted me to ask if this is for kids. Then saw it's rated TV-PG. not Y or Y7, or G.
Well, TV-PG is theoretically still for kids, just older ones. All the Star Wars movies (except Revenge of the Sith) were PG as well.
On the Legend of Korra front, that ending was a bit of a downer. The finale was great overall, but seeing Korra like that is sad.
Also, was happy to see I was right on Bolin learning to lava bend.
