Cleopatra was a Ptolemy, and therefore of Macedonian descent. She doesn't really provide a point from which to extrapolate to the Egyptian populace.

One of the amusing things about the PNW tech industry: the chances are good you will end up talking to someone who also worked at Enormous Tech Company, and you will have common ground talking about frustrating situations.

You try and explain it to the person who doesn't care who brought it up who keeps arguing with me and explaining that Egyptian art is non-representational and therefore they could all still be white (don't google fifth dynasty sculpture if you want to stay on her side).
