Kaylee: Is that him? Mal: That's the buffet table. Kaylee: Well how can we be sure, unless we question it?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

"Cleopatra was white, so all ancient Egyptians and their gods were white, as far as I was told by the black girl I worked with."

Cleopatra was a Ptolemy, and therefore of Macedonian descent. She doesn't really provide a point from which to extrapolate to the Egyptian populace.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Alas, SC the last I heard. He's also got leukemia at the moment.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I think the interview went well. Now to wait for a follow-up from the HR person about if they want to bring me in for an interview loop.

One of the amusing things about the PNW tech industry: the chances are good you will end up talking to someone who also worked at Enormous Tech Company, and you will have common ground talking about frustrating situations.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So...although I'm up for a good adaptation/translation, doing a US version of Broadchurch and signing Tennant as the lead is kinda not even trying.

(Please keep the accent).

She doesn't really provide a point from which to extrapolate to the Egyptian populace.

You try and explain it to the person who doesn't care who brought it up who keeps arguing with me and explaining that Egyptian art is non-representational and therefore they could all still be white (don't google fifth dynasty sculpture if you want to stay on her side). She then posted this [link] which cracks me up for two reasons--I swear the guy on the left is a brother, and...my name is right there in the middle!

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

ita, I think he is going to do an "American" accent.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Weren't (many of) the Egyptian gods anthropomorphic animals?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

BTW, I have ZERO interest in watching "Broadchurch" again. It is great tv, but if I watch it again, even translated, I will feel like jumping off a building.

I was disappointed in the ending, the reveal on the murderer felt forced. So I doubt I shall watch.

You don't only have race in your head.

I think he is going to do an "American" accent.

Fuck that.

I was disappointed in the ending, the reveal on the murderer felt forced.

Some shows make the solving the mystery part of why you're there. Broadchurch felt like you were there for the emotional rollercoaster. Perhaps to jump off it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I don't even understand the point of casting David Tennant as David Tennant, unless the entire point is to skip the accents.
