The venue was really 5 minutes away from my house, but I definitely could have gotten there earlier! And for a daytime, not-that-fancy wedding? Easy.
The wedding was so nice! And now over. Perfect. Note to self: Personalized conversation hearts for a favor. Local!
I didn't Necco was a Boston thing. Conversation hearts are a great favor!
New England Candy COmpany!
Ah!
We had no wedding favors. We were young and hadn't been to a lot of weddings yet (ours was the first among our friends, by a few years), and it didn't even occur to me as something you were supposed to do. Also, my dad did most of the planning because my mom was so ill at the time. (And it was a great wedding! But he wouldn't have thought of them either.)
Sometimes now I fantasize about a big anniversary party, where I could do some of the wedding things I would have done at the time, had I been older and more me, if that makes sense.
It makes total sense.
And you know, favors -- eh. I just ate the candy and threw away the box.
I actually love that idea, Amy.
As they say, youth is wasted on the young. Sometimes, in my officiant experience, weddings are wasted on the newlyweds.
Oh dear. I just found most of the Fashion Week shows online. I could be here a while.
I'm watching yesterday's Ellen, and she has this WWE wrestler who just came out. So I googled the story, and apparently a reporter went up to him at the airport and asked if a gay person could be successful in the WWE, and he was like, "Yeah, you know what? I'm gay, and I'm very happy." So clearly the reporter was setting up some kind of gotcha thing if he said no, right? Good for him.
(Also, I forgot that WWE characters aren't necessarily the person's actual name -- he wrestles as Darren Young, but his real name is Frederick Douglass Ross (?) the THIRD. That seems like a way better name to me!)
