The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

People who know Texas and Louisiana--I am trying to figure out what to go see on my drive from Galveston to New Orleans. Any suggestions? How is Sea Rim State Park?

not your mom's socks.

Woooo! Congratulations Javachick and Juliebird. New excellent bosses for everyone!

That's a rough situation for Steve. I hope he can find a different situation soon.

Why did I wake up at 3:30 am and check my email. Why am I now angry that someone sent me a "drop everything you are doing in order to find a thing we gave you two years ago because it is urgently needed now" email? It is not urgent. It is a metronome. I don't know where it is or if we still have it, but I'm almost positive we gave it back and anyway, it does not require a voicemail and a follow up email three hours later that uses "matters of importantce" and "requires your prompt attention.". It's. A. Metronome.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Is it a work metronome or a home 'nome?

Unless it's a Secret MacGuffin that will avert the apocolypse (again) NOT URGENT.

javachik, that is awesome! You had EuroMinions!

And juliebird, a garden exchange in English! Work-paid flower porn!

hip deep in pie

Congrats Java! And Julie I hope the exchange works out.

I would love a job with travel. One of my friends has been going to conferences all over and her pictures are killing me.

Great news, Javachik and Juliebird!

At my job, it looks like I may stop reporting to two different managers soon. They're both nice, competent people, but that's been twice the check-ins and clearing vacation days and juggling priorities and it's been going on for a year. And the one who I'll end up with seems more supportive and in line with my personal work style. Just one more yearly evaluation to get both of them to sign.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Having watched some of the Ylvis videos, I now know what Scandinavian for 'Yankovic' is.

And you know -- what's also funny about the Ylvis Fox song is, the sounds assigned to the fox (as done by the grandfather) -- are not entirely off. Foxes bark, cough, yip, howl, and chatter.

Woke up at 2 coughing. Kept coughing. Started falling asleep again at 6, when the alarm went off. Called it a day.

Good news is that it seems that the coughing fit was the last hurrah of my vacation cold. But I'm taking the day off. Maybe I'll get shit done. After I nap a bit.

Anybody here tried kratom? (Traditional Thai medicine similar to caffeine in effect).
