'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Having watched some of the Ylvis videos, I now know what Scandinavian for 'Yankovic' is.

And you know -- what's also funny about the Ylvis Fox song is, the sounds assigned to the fox (as done by the grandfather) -- are not entirely off. Foxes bark, cough, yip, howl, and chatter.

Woke up at 2 coughing. Kept coughing. Started falling asleep again at 6, when the alarm went off. Called it a day.

Good news is that it seems that the coughing fit was the last hurrah of my vacation cold. But I'm taking the day off. Maybe I'll get shit done. After I nap a bit.

Anybody here tried kratom? (Traditional Thai medicine similar to caffeine in effect).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I want today off, you don't even understand. All I want to do is cry, thinking of today, thinking of working Sunday morning.

I want to cry because I ate a handful of popcorn a co-worker offered me yesterday, because I rolled over on my right side in my sleep, because my migraine doctor doesn't want to medicate my cervical facet pain.

I am exhausted, so much hurts, and I can't even do a full load of laundry yet (I can manage a half load at a time).

If this position doesn't work out and I have to go back to a job where Sunday mornings are a regular periodic expectation...I don't know.

feel better vibes beaming your way, ita.

People who know Texas and Louisiana--I am trying to figure out what to go see on my drive from Galveston to New Orleans. Any suggestions?

You could stop off in Houma and see the depressed backwoods bayou setting of the Swamp Thing comics!

Yeah, OK, I don't know much about points of interest in that part of the South before you hit New Orleans, and the locals can steer you far better once you arrive there. Baton Rouge probably has a number of attractions that could be interesting, though their events calendar doesn't have that much going on during the week before the 13th.

Oh, ita. I'm sorry. I don't know what cervical facet pain is, but it doesn't sound good.

I do hope you get overtime for the Sunday stuff.
