It's about the number of "exceptional" things about yourself you can slip into one conversation (that's not technically about you). I'm the queen of inconsequentially "exceptional". I think her threshold is around six.

Pornypants rides again!
I've been exhausted all day -- barely able to get out of bed this morning, had to force myself to stay awake during office hours, feeling sick by the time I was done teaching -- but now that I can go to bed, I can't get to sleep. I don't know what's up with this.
Tried out my new manual ceramic burr grinder - grinding only enough for one cup didn't take too too much effort and made for a damn fine cup of coffee. In other breakfast news, smoked salmon and brie is pretty yum.
Dang it, I forgot to get smoked salmon at Trader Joe's yesterday. My breakfast is sad.

TJs has good smoked salmon for the best price I can find. I have a running list in my head of stuff like that (I understand some people actually keep a literal price notebook or spreadsheet or whatever to compare prices between stores). TJs wins on smoked salmon, nuts (by a mile), olive oil, gluten-free oats, gluten-free pasta, and generally cheese.
Judging by the batch of emails I got last night, I've got a whole bunch of really stressed-out students this semester. And it's just the first week of class. I have a feeling this is going to be a long semester.
