TJs has good smoked salmon for the best price I can find. I have a running list in my head of stuff like that (I understand some people actually keep a literal price notebook or spreadsheet or whatever to compare prices between stores). TJs wins on smoked salmon, nuts (by a mile), olive oil, gluten-free oats, gluten-free pasta, and generally cheese.

Judging by the batch of emails I got last night, I've got a whole bunch of really stressed-out students this semester. And it's just the first week of class. I have a feeling this is going to be a long semester.
The what-to-buy where breakdown I keep in my head is much more about availability than price (the shopping list on my phone will do the price comparison for me, but I don't really use it except to occasionally delay getting something I kinda want but don't need right now). TJ's is excellent for when I need deli stuff, but does me no good if I want frozen meals or allergy medicine (both of which I may need to go out and get tomorrow) for example.
Hil, slap "Don't Panic" stickers on their textbooks when they're not looking?
My god, getting my parents out of the house on the morning is worse than getting us kids out the door for school back in the day. I've been ready to go for an hour.
I'm in the car moms gone back in still no dad...
Oh my.
I woke up this morning to news a good friend not only wrecked her car last night (at the least undercarriage damage) but she tripped seriously walking home after (it was only a couple blocks) and may have a broken foot....
I am somehow keeping a migraine at bay. (The farmer's market and all it's smells were a bad idea.) But won't go away. So I feel stuck in the house feeling nit quite right, but not really bad.
Oz got into a fight with the cat that looks like Hitler who insists on hanging out in our yard. They were under my neighbour's deck. After their first scrap, Oz had little cat Hitler cornered and they were having a growling, caterwauling standoff. (Actually I think Oz was doing all the growling and caterwauling.) I learned that my hose will not reach the deck. So I ran in the house, filled a plastic water bottle and flung it at them. So there are these two freaked out cats, (Hitler was pretty much trying to get away by now.) and me chasing them, flinging water. And people walking by looking at me as if I am totally crazy. Finally Hitler jumped the fence and ran off. After another 15 minutes of freaking out and turning on me, Oz finally was calm enough to pick him up and take him back inside.
It's amazing how he goes from 60 to zero in seconds. He's now sleeping off the adrenaline rush and I am wondering if whiskey on an empty stomach would be a bad thing.
A little while ago, I got to watch Charlie go into full on doggie play initiation behavior with Bubba.
It didn't work, but it was pretty darn adorable, and a good way to start the weekend.
Now though I have to get dressed and start my errands. Old Navy for vacation clothes, and then Costco.

Oh dogs, they are always so hopeful.
