Our wings are not tired.

For my overwhelming stuff I have done nothing today yet, but I did come up with a new plan. That counts, right?

The past few weekends I have tried to pack up boxes in various areas of things we aren't using on a very frequent basis. The theory being that it will make the house more viewable for sale, and that it will make moving easier with much of the stuff packed and in storage. That is going fairly well, but more still to be done. This has expanded to clearing absolutely everything out except bare necessities for DH and moving the boys and me to Otter Lake for the summer. What we don't take with us goes in storage. I expect us to be out of here in 2 weeks. Gulp.

Before I leave I am going to try to complete one each of 8 house zones per day. Cleaning, packing, putty & sand here, paint there. By the time I finish the house will have only a tiny amount of DH's stuff left and will be ready for showing on a moment's notice or open houses, etc. Frankly I am pretty freaked by the notion of open house with my stuff here. Ick.

Now I am exhausted just thinking about it, but it has to happen.

Our wings are not tired.

In other news, I got a shower!

YaY! I hope improvement happens soon on all functionality.

Congrats to the people doing 5k and 10k or any athletic ventures. Someday again I will join you! In the meantime I shall sit here and applaud enthusiastically.

I am pretty successful with watching and listening to entertainers while putting aside my disgust with their personal behavior. Often it is because I am unaware. Other times (like OJ in Airplane! I just ignore it)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

There were a ton of people booing Courtney Love when she went up to the microphone when Nirvana was accepting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame thing. Seriously, people? I did like that, for the tribute performance part, they had all female singers for the Nirvana songs. Which led to a whole ton of female singers on stage that night, since they'd also had a bunch of women singing Linda Ronstadt's songs.

Because books.

The Linda Ronstadt tribute was amazing. So was Tom Morello's introduction of KISS.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I went around and put up all the storm windows, and cleaned a few of them, so that was satisfying, but having the windows open onto the street (I'm on the 1st floor) is LOUD. Hm.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I am totally overwhelmed by the volume of stuff in my house. I kind of want to abandon all possessions and go live in a cloister or something.

Shameful confession: the sheer amount of crap in our house is why we haven't had you guys over to our house. I feel like a heel admitting that, but...we have a lot of crap, and it's hard to get it out of the house because of the deadly combo of ADD and hoarding tendencies.

tl/dr: If you think I'm gonna stop saying it, you've got another think coming.

I see what you did there.

I made chocolate-covered strawberries for a BBQ today at my old boss's house (incompetent!boss, not Big!Boss; as a matter of fact, in the invitation, incompetent!boss mentioned that Big!Boss and family were not invited, which -- it's his home, man; he can invite whoever he wants). I'm mostly going out of curiosity to see what everyone is up to.

And possibly to geek out with Chatty about comics.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

got through 400 yards, 100 of them freestyle, did not drown.

Go meara, woo! I assume you are still running - if you are already done, damn, girl you are fast!

Also go Laura! Sounds like an excellent plan. The idea of an Open House makes me want to hide under the bed.

Have fun, Tep.

And now I'm off to the cemetery.

You know, if I had Mystique's powers I would never have to do laundry. I would probably still have trouble deciding what I want to look like I'm wearing, though.

Punishingly Intricate

Forgot to check on -t's race progress when we were out and about yesterday. Cheering you now!!! Strong work!

I'm hungover and am curing myself by sitting in the cool basement watching the kittens kitten it up! They seem to be settling in ok. I need to figure out how to introduce them in the least traumatic way to the dog upstairs!

Because books.

Hey, -t, I checked my Facebook feed and I never saw your running posts. I want to make your phone cheer!

lisah, would it help to bring them something that smells like the dog?
